ITINERARY

Day 1 - Manaus

Departing Manaus at 16:00. Cruising on the River Negro passing by the meeting of the watersand entering the Amazon River.

Meals Included: dinner.

Day 2 - Cruise

Cruising on the Amazon River passing the many islands in the river. There will be quick stops at Parintins, Juruti, Óbidos and others.

Day 3 - Cruise

Early morning arrival in Santarém. After breakfast depart for the Vila do Chão 30km from the port. Free time to swim in the green waters of the Tapajós and visit the Vila. Lunch at a local restaurant included and return to the boat for a late afternoon departure. Cruise by the Tapajos meeting of the waters ( green waters of the Tapajos river and brown waters of the Amazon). At night quick stops at Monte Alegre, Prainha and Almeirim.

Day 4 - Cruise

Day of Cruising around the Island of Marajó passing a few bays where you will have a better and closer view of the local settlements and the exuberant Amazon forest.

Day 5 - Cruise - Belém

Cruising on the River Pará that even though is far from the sea is affected by the slat waters. Enter the Marajó Bay and arrive in Belém at around midday.

Meals included in the program are detailed in the following chart.

NM SANTAREM is not a cruise ship but a regular liner. Local people travel sleeping in hammocks.

The ship makes several calls on the route only for embark or disembark of passengers and goods:
Belém / Almeirim / Prainha / Monte Alegre / Santarém / Obidos / Juruti / Manaus.

In Santarém, the ship calls for 07 hours and it is possible to take a tour to Alter do Chão.

Upon request, for groups or individuals, we also can quote guided assistance onboard during the whole or part of the cruise (available languages: english, french, spanish, german, italian).

Accommodation:

Only the first class is equiped with air conditioning: 04 suites (01 small double bed, 01 small lounge and bathroom) , 11 cabins (2 single bunks and bathroom), an airco bar-lounge only for suites/cabins passengers and an airco restaurant with private and separated turn for suites/cabins passengers. Food onboard is local simple food (rice, black beans, chicken, meat, etc..)

Payment:

Deposit of 30% to guarantee your reservation. The remaining amount must be paid a minimum 30 days before start of the tour. If reservation is made within 30 days of the tour full payment required to make a reservation.   

Cancellation:

Up to 30 days before full refund is given unless the flight tickets have been emitted. In this case there will be a penalty due to the cancellation of the tickets. This depends on the rules of the airline used.  No refund is given when a cancellation is made within 30 days of departure.  

Operation of tour:

Minimum of 1 pax to operate. 

Responsability:

Brasil Travel / Melchior & Hodson Ltda and/or agencies involved with the packages, flights and tours shall act only as agents of the tour members in making arrangements for hotels and any other services and do not assume any liability what so ever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to persons or property due to an act of God, default by any hotel, company or person rendering any of services included on the tours or flights. Furthermore, no responsability is accepted for quarentine, government restrains, weather or other causes beyond control. No responsability is accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of government authority.
