On
the Chile-Argentina border, mount Tupungato reaches an altitude
of 6’570m with the typical grandeur of all volcanoes. This
peak, which is quite wild and less coveted than others, offers
countless possibilities to all those mountain climbers in search
of beautiful challenges off the beaten paths. Be it by its
normal route (dry) or by its southern face (glacier), this
volcano offers a variety of views that make for eternal memories.
The approach walk as well as the climb itself, make Mt Tupungato
(on the Chilean side) one of the most beautiful treks of the
Central Mountain Range. All the ingredients of the great
expeditions are present... As for the Aconcagua program, we
recommend a previous acclimatization climb to Mt El Plomo
(5,430m)..
